Brno – A bit of history…
This year will be the 41st occasion that a Grand Prix event will have been staged at Brno. The first Grand Prix to be held at Brno was back in 1965 on the old road circuit which measured 13.94 km. The circuit remained essentially the same until 1975, when it was shortened to the 10.92 km circuit that was used up until 1982, at which time it was deemed no longer up to the safety standards required for Grand Prix racing. Well, raceday didn’t turn out well after all as Alvaro was yet again the victim of another incident as Aleix Espargaro knocked Suzuki’s Spanish rider out of the race at the start of the third lap. Bati had already got into a good rhythm and had passed a couple of other riders before Espargaro’s intervention bought his race to an abrupt end for the second week in succession. READ MORE
Laguna Seca Qualifying Bodes Well For Raceday
Alvaro made significant improvements during Saturday’s final practice and qualifying sessions for the American Grand Prix, shaving almost two-and-a-half seconds off his best time from Friday. Both he and Loris are in a positive mood ahead of the race around the 3,610m Laguna Seca circuit, as they believe that the improvements will continue though the 32-laps of the race. READ MORE
