Lack Of Quali Grip Leaves All To Do On Raceday

Loris (P14. 2’05.821, 23 laps) and Alvaro (P15. 2’06.607, 21 laps) will start side-by-side on the fifth row of the grid after failing to get the grip they both wanted from their Suzuki GSV-Rs to produce competitive qualifying laps. They both suffered with similar issues and will have a tough task ahead of them in tomorrow’s 20-lap race to get up amongst the front-runners at the start of race. READ MORE

Steady Progress For Alvaro In Opening Silverstone Session

Rizla Suzuki has completed the first day of practice at the British Grand Prix with Alvaro and Loris taking their time to become accustomed to the new circuit at Silverstone. Alvaro (P13, 2’08.666, 19 laps) was certainly more comfortable on his Suzuki GSV-R today than at Mugello recently, as he still battles back to full fitness from his recent injuries. He made steady progress throughout the session and was pleased with his first day’s effort, but realises that improvements still need to be made by both him and the bike as the weekend progresses. Alvaro Brings Home A Tough Two Points At Mugello

Rizla Suzuki MotoGP racers Loris Capirossi and Alvaro Bautista both finished today’s Italian Grand Prix in points scoring positions. The two riders finished in 10th and 14th places respectively after tough races for the pair, but for different reasons. Capirossi struggled to get the front end feeling that he wanted from his Suzuki GSV-R and couldn’t push hard enough to get up to the pack in front of him for a higher position. He was disappointed to finish his home GP in 10th, but philosophical about completing a full race after crashing in both of his last two outings. READ MORE

Alvaro (P16, 1’53.243, 25 laps) is fighting a very personal battle this weekend as he fights through the pain to achieve at least a finish in the Mugello race. He did manage to take over two seconds off his best time from yesterday during qualifying, but will still start the 23-lap race from the rear of the grid as he continues to struggle with pain and lack of strength in his left shoulder. Injury frustrations continue to hamper Alvaro’s performance

Alvaro (P17, 155.257, 21 laps) was riding a motorcycle for the first time today since the huge high-side that forced him to withdraw from Le Mans two weeks ago and found it tough around the demanding 5,245m Mugello circuit. He will probably have some pain-killing medication tomorrow to help him overcome discomfort he is suffering and is determined to finish Sunday’s race in a positive frame of mind… READ MORE
